In the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee held in the Vidhan Sabha on Sunday, it was approved to conduct the budget session of the Legislature starting from 20 February till 6 March. It was decided in the meeting that the session would be conducted on Saturday as well. The daily agenda has to be completed on the same day, so the proceedings of the House will continue till late evening.
On February 21, the proceedings of the House will be adjourned after passing a condolence motion on the death of former MLA of Apna Dal, late Rahul Prakash Kaul. On February 22, Finance Minister Suresh Khanna will present the budget for the financial year 2023-24. The discussion on the Governor’s address will start in the House from February 22 itself.
It was decided in the meeting that the Governor’s address would be discussed for three days. After that there will be discussion on the budget for 4 days. The House will be convened by March 6. Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna, SP Chief Whip Manoj Pandey, MLA Lalji Verma, BSP Legislature Party leader Umashankar Singh were present in the meeting.

It was discussed in the meeting of the Business Advisory Committee that the program for conducting the session of the Legislative Assembly has been released till March 10. But March 7 and 8 is a holiday for Holi, after that Holi Milan celebrations will start in the regions. In such a situation, it will be difficult for the members to join the assembly session again. Therefore, the proceedings of the House will be conducted till March 6 only. Members of all parties agreed to this.
