On the other hand, Kanpur recorded a minimum temperature of 2.6 degrees Celsius on Monday. Apart from this, the minimum temperature remained below five degrees in 13 districts. The cities where the mercury remained below five degrees included Fatehpur, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Fursatganj, Jhansi, Orai, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Agra and Aligarh.
While the minimum temperature has dropped in the cities of the state, there is a slight increase in the maximum temperature of the day due to sunshine. In many places it was recorded between 16 degree to 20 degree Celsius. According to meteorologist Atul Kumar Singh, the mercury will gradually rise again from Wednesday. In some areas, a warning of cold wave has also been issued on Tuesday.
