Terrorist associate arrested from Sopore in Jammu and Kashmir

Security forces have arrested a helper of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba in Sopore of Kashmir Valley. During this, arms and ammunition have been recovered from his possession. The helper has been identified as Umar Bashir Bhat, a resident of Manj Seer, Sopore.

According to police sources, acting on the information received regarding the helper, a joint search operation was conducted by the police with the personnel of 52 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and 177 Battalion of CRPF near the railway station Peth Seer. During this a suspect was arrested. A hand grenade, a pistol, a pistol magazine, 15 pistol rounds and a mobile phone with SIM card have been recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against him in Police Station Tarju and investigation has been started.

A joint security force team from Sopore in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday arrested a terrorist associate of banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. Let us tell you that arms and ammunition have been recovered from him.

Police said that acting on specific information regarding movement of terrorist associates, police along with Army and CRPF had launched a joint cordon and search operation near Peth Ser railway station.

During the search, a suspect was caught and tried to flee from the spot, but was arrested by the joint team, police said. He has been identified as Umar Bashir Bhat, a resident of Manj Seer.

During the search, a hand grenade, a pistol, a pistol magazine, 15 live rounds of the pistol and a mobile phone were recovered from his possession, police said.
