NEFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer Sabsachi Dey confirmed the breaking of the glass.
He said that the windshield of Vande Bharat train running between New Jalpaiguri-Howrah is broken but whether it was due to stone pelting or any other reason, it is being confirmed from the CCTV footage installed inside the train.

On the basis of information received from eyewitnesses, Katihar Police is probing the incident of stone pelting between KM.118-122. The window glass of bogie number C-6 (NO.P6227667) was broken due to stone pelting. No official information related to GRP-RPF or Bihar Police is being given about this incident of Balrampur police station area of Katihar.
Police is engaged in investigation. Even before this, stones have been pelted on the Vande Bharat train in Bihar’s Kishanganj and in some areas of Bengal.
