
New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on January 10, 2023, has approved the proposal for elevation of Advocate Neela Kedar Gokhale as a Judge in the Bombay High Court. Apart from this, the Supreme Court Collegium on Tuesday approved the names of nine persons as judges of various High Courts. In which the proposals for the appointment of seven judicial officers and two lawyers have been approved.

In a statement, the Supreme Court informed that the Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on January 10, 2023, has approved the proposal for elevation of judicial officers as judges in the Karnataka High Court. These include the names of Ramchandra Dattatreya Haddar and Venkatesh Naik Thavarayanayak.

Besides this, the Collegium also resolved to reiterate its earlier recommendation for elevation of Advocate Nagendra Ramachandra Naik as a Judge in the Karnataka High Court. The collegium approved the proposal for elevation of advocate Nila Kedar Gokhale as a judge in the Bombay High Court. At the same time, the proposal for promotion of judicial officer Mridul Kumar Kalita as a judge in the Gauhati High Court was also approved.

In another statement, the apex court said the Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting to be held on January 10, 2023, has approved the proposal for elevation of judicial officers P. Venkata Jyotirmoy and V Gopalakrishna Rao as judges in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. Also as a judge in the Manipur High Court two judicial officers by the collegium, Aribam Guneshwar Sharma and Golmei Gaifulshilu Kabui were also recommended.
