Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate road projects worth more than Rs 18,100 crore in Dausa, Rajasthan today. He will also dedicate to the nation the first section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway connecting Delhi to Dausa. With the commissioning of the first section of the 246 km long expressway from Delhi to Dausa, the journey from Delhi to Jaipur will be reduced from five hours to three and a half hours. The total length of this expressway connecting Delhi-Mumbai is 1,386 km. Once completed, it will become the world’s longest eight-lane expressway, which can be widened to 12 lanes if needed.

Along with this, a four-lane road will be constructed between Kotputli to Baraodanio at a cost of Rs 3,775 crore. A two-lane paved shoulder road will be constructed between Lalsot-Karauli at a cost of Rs 150 crore.

This expressway will pass through 5 districts of Rajasthan
Will pass through the border of 265 villages of 18 tehsils of five districts of Rajasthan. Starting from Sohna in Haryana, passing through Alwar, Dausa, Sawaimadhopur, Bundi and Kota districts of Rajasthan, it will enter Madhya Pradesh from Mandsaur, passing 373 km in Rajasthan. It will connect major economic centers like Jaipur, Indore, Bhopal and Surat between Delhi-Mumbai.

Delhi to Mumbai in 12 hours instead of 24
The Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has been developed at a cost of Rs 12,150 crore. Due to this, many districts of Rajasthan will get special benefit and economic development will also accelerate in the entire state. With the completion of the construction of this expressway, where the travel distance between Delhi and Mumbai will be reduced by 12 percent, the time can also be reduced by 50 percent. At present, it takes 24 hours to travel to or from Delhi-Mumbai by road. After the expressway is ready, this time will be reduced to 12 hours.

Dayanand Saraswati’s 200th birth anniversary today, PM Modi will inaugurate year-long celebrations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the year-long program on the 200th birth anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati at Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi today (February 12). Born on February 12, 1824, Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati was a social reformer who founded the Arya Samaj in the year 1875 to combat social inequalities prevalent in his time, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement. Arya Samaj has played an important role in the cultural and social awakening of the country by emphasizing on social reforms and education.

The statement said the government is determined to honor social reformers and prominent personalities, especially those whose contribution is yet to be recognized at the national level. From declaring the birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Muda as Tribal Pride Day to participating in events to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leading such initiatives.
