Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday flagged off the country’s 11th Vande Bharat train from Bhopal to Delhi at Rani Kamlapati railway station in Bhopal. This is the first Vande Bharat train in Madhya Pradesh. PM Modi reached Bhopal by a special Air Force aircraft at around 9.30 am. the prime minister said
Talked to the children. The enthusiasm in them about this train was visible. When this program was fixed, I was told that there is a program on a date. I said why have you kept it on 1st April? When the news comes in the newspaper that Modi ji is going to show the green flag on April 1, then our Congress colleagues will definitely give a statement that Modi will make April fool.
Earlier, only one family of the country was considered as the first family of the country. He had left the poor, middle class family of the country to fend for themselves. There was no one to ask their hopes and expectations. After independence, India had got a huge railway network built. If the governments of that time wanted, they could have modernized the railways very quickly. But, sacrificed the development of railways for political selfishness.
Even after so many decades of independence, the states of North East were not connected by train. When you gave me the opportunity to serve in 2014, I decided that this will not happen now. Rejuvenation of railways will continue. In the last 9 years, it has been our constant endeavor to make Indian Railways the best rail network in the world. You know what news used to come about Indian Railways before 2014.
PM Modi is on Bhopal tour today. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted the first Vande Bharat train of Madhya Pradesh and the 11th of the country. The PM flagged off the train from Rani Kamalapati station in Bhopal. During this Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Governor Mangu Bhai Patel were present. This train will run between Bhopal to Delhi. This train will run 6 days a week, the train will not run on Saturdays.
PM Modi said, in the history of railways, it would have happened very rarely that a Prime Minister would have come again at the same station. But new arrangements are being made in modern India. New traditions are being created. Today’s program is the best example of this. Just now here I interacted with school children who were going as passengers. The excitement and enthusiasm they had about the train was worth seeing. In a way, the Vande Bharat train is a symbol of enthusiasm. I was told that there is a program on 1st April. I said why are you keeping it. Congress people will say that Modi will do April Fool on April 1.
