
Efforts to infiltrate through drones are continuing in Punjab. On March 24, at 2:28 am, a Pakistani drone attempted infiltration along the India-Pakistan border in Metla area of Gurdaspur sector. The BSF personnel posted on the border fired at the drone and chased it away.
After this, a search operation was conducted on the spot. During this, BSF jawans recovered a packet consignment, which was dropped from the drone. It contained 5 pistols, 10 pistol magazines, 71 rounds of 9 mm and 20 rounds of .311.
Punjab Police has tightened its grip on gangsters, terrorists and smugglers. In one year, 26 terrorist modules were exposed and 168 terrorists were arrested and put behind bars. At the same time, the police has also been successful in exposing 162 gangster modules. Ultra-modern weapons have also been recovered from the terrorists. Apart from this, 30 drones coming from across the border have also been brought down by the police with the help of other security agencies.
DGP Gaurav Yadav said that several steps are being taken by the Punjab Police to strengthen the security of the state. People need not fear. In order to make the state a drug-free state, the DGP said that the Punjab Police has waged a decisive war against drugs. Since March 16, 2022, 17,568 drug peddlers have been arrested by registering 13,094 FIRs. Punjab Police has recovered a record 863.9 kg of heroin in just one year.
