Haryana: State’s first Agniveer brother-sister pair used to race together to join the army

Under the Government of India’s Agneepath scheme, Anuja and Sumit, residents of Matanhel, Jhajjar, have been selected for Agniveer recruitment. Sumit and Anuja are brothers and sisters. This is the first time, two members of a family are becoming Agniveer. Due to his becoming Agniveer, the youth of the surrounding are also getting inspiration.

His journey is as special as he is to become Agniveer. Both the siblings had made up their mind to join the army from the very beginning. First tried for permanent recruitment in Army and Air Force, but the recruitment was canceled here, so dreamed of becoming Agniveer.

In the very first time, both were selected in the recruitment conducted by the Rohtak Recruitment Office. Now both are going to Bangalore for training. Both will become Agniveer after getting training at different places in Bangalore. Military officials have inspired the youth to come forward under the scheme by presenting the example of both siblings at Army Recruitment Headquarters Ambala.

Used to prepare for army physical together

Both brother and sister are feeling very proud to become Agniveer. Sumit says that he was selected for the X Group in the Air Force in the year 2020, but further this recruitment was cancelled. Shortly after this, the Government of India announced the Agneepath scheme. In the village, the day used to start with getting up at five in the morning and some days running, some days hitting the beam and some days doing other exercises. Under the Army Recruitment Office Rohtak, the schedule for the recruitment of firemen came, went to Hisar and gave the test and got selected.

home runs from farming

Sumit tells that his father Vijay does farming. There is four acres of land. In such a situation, the family earns its living from agriculture. Some of the youths from the village have joined the army, so they also wanted to join the army. Similarly, sister Anuja also used to talk about joining the army from the beginning, so both of them made preparations together.

Army is also setting an example

Now the Army Recruitment Office is also taking the example of both brothers and sisters among the youth, so that the youth can be inspired. Recently the schedule of recruitment rally has been released under Agneepath Yojana. For this, the youth are busy in making preparations in the villages.

Studied in the same school, will now serve the country together

There is a wave of happiness among the family members of 22-year-old Sumit Suhag and 23-year-old Anuja Suhag, cousins, residents of Matanhel village of Salhawas area of ​​Jhajjar, being selected in Agniveer. Anuja has also been honored with a memento from ARO Rohtak for securing first position in All India Rank.

Sumit’s son Vijay Kumar has already joined the effort, while Anuja Suhag’s daughter Sanjay was working hard for the last four years to join the army. The fathers of both Anuja and Sumit are real brothers, who live under the same roof. Relatives told that Anuja and Sumit have completed their education up to class 12 from the Government Senior Secondary School in Matanhel village.

Apart from agriculture, the family members of both also do the business of animal husbandry. Sumit’s mother Sunil and Anuja’s mother Mukesh are both sisters, who stay at home and do domestic work. Both his grandfather Ishwar Singh and grandmother Rajkaur keep motivating their grandchildren to move forward. Dada Ishwar Singh’s elder brother Katar Singh has served as Lance Naik in the army.

Anuja Pandit, after passing B.Sc from Neki Ram Sharma College, is doing MA in History from Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak under distance education system.

After getting selected, both the siblings left for training on February 20 and have also reported. Anuja will take training from March 1 at CMT Center Nellasandhara, Bengaluru. The same Sumit will complete the training by staying at CSC Center, Bengaluru. Villagers Jaiveer Singh, Vijay Lata Sarpanch Matanhel, Advocate Krishna Kumar, Vijendra Rao Saheb etc. congratulated both the siblings on being selected in Agniveer.
