Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: PM will inaugurate Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section today, travel in Rajasthan will be easy

Keeping in view the increase in development, progress and connectivity in New India, the Prime Minister has emphasized that excellent road infrastructure should be created in the country.

To convert this vision into reality, several world class expressways are being constructed across the country. One such important project is the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, for which the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section which will be completed first.

The Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway is 246 km long, developed at a cost of over Rs 12,150 crore. With the commissioning of this section, the travel time from Delhi to Jaipur will be reduced from five hours to about three and a half hours. With the opening of this section, economic development in the entire region will also get a boost.

Highlights of Expressway
The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be the longest expressway in India, with a total length of 1,386 km. With its construction, the travel distance between Delhi and Mumbai will be reduced by 12 per cent and the road length will be reduced from 1,424 km to 1,242 km. The travel time will also be reduced by 50 percent. Where earlier it used to take 24 hours, now it will take 12 hours. This expressway will pass through six states Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra and will connect major cities like Kota, Indore, Jaipur, Bhopal, Vadodara and Surat.

The expressway will also facilitate 93 PM Gati Shakti economic clusters, 13 seaports, eight major airports and eight multimodal logistics parks. Apart from this, the upcoming greenfield infrastructure like Jewar Airport, Navi Mumbai Airport and JNPT Port will also be benefited. This expressway will have a decisive positive impact on the development direction of all the surrounding areas. In this way, its important contribution in the economic transformation of the country will be ensured.
