Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann held a press conference after the arrest of Amritpal Singh. He said that I assure the 3.5 crore people of Punjab that there is peace in Punjab. Without naming Amritpal, the CM said that he was fully aware of the matter. I didn’t sleep the whole night last night, getting updates every 15 minutes because I didn’t want any bloodshed. But I have no regrets about losing sleep for Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann said that even on March 18, Amritpal could have been arrested but shots had to be fired, so the Punjab Police exercised a lot of restraint. He also patted the Punjab Police for the entire operation.
CM Mann said that those who pose a threat to the security of the country will not be spared. Mann said that the AAP government is working for the safety and law and order of the people and it is our responsibility and duty.
