Cabinet meeting today, formation of Education Service Selection Commission may be approved

There will be a catinet meeting under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at 4 pm on Wednesday. The cabinet may approve the formation of the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission to be set up for the recruitment of teachers and non-teaching staff in basic, secondary and higher education. More than a dozen matters of different departments will be discussed in the cabinet.

In another important matter, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday gave necessary guidelines regarding the formation of ‘Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission’ as a unified commission while reviewing the ongoing teacher recruitment process in various educational institutions in the state.

He said that separate authorities, boards and commissions have been constituted for the selection of qualified teachers in basic, secondary, higher and technical educational institutions operating in the state. Apart from the Examination Regulatory Authority, Secondary Education Service Selection Commission and Higher Education Service Selection Commission, teachers are also being selected through the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission.

The selection process is conducted through the Board of Management for minority institutions of higher and secondary education level, Board of Governance and Board of Directors for technical institutions. In order to make practical reforms, considering the future requirements, it would be appropriate to set up a unified commission for teacher selection.
