Peshawar’s SSP Kasif Abbasi said that in fact six to seven armed terrorists carried out a major attack on Peshawar’s Sarband police station with the help of hand grenades, automatic weapons and sniper weapons. During this attack, 3 policemen were killed in cross firing.
The terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the attack. Deputy Superintendent of Police Sardar Hussain and two constables were among the policemen killed in the attack.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan condemned the attack and said that the sacrifices of policemen in the fight against terror would not go in vain. A search operation is being conducted in the area in search of terrorists. On the other hand, TTP has claimed that 4 policemen were killed and 3 policemen were injured in this attack.
Also claimed to have looted two Kalashnikovs and magazines and 47 thousand Pakistani rupees. The TTP also claimed responsibility for the attack on a police checkpost in Tunsa Sharif tehsil in Dera Ghazi Khan district.
