
Assam Police The ED has arrested three leaders of banned organizations PFI (Popular Front of India) and CFI (Campus Front of India). This arrest has been made from Barpeta district of Assam. Explain that the government had banned PFI and its affiliates in September last year. Since then the process of arrest of PFI leaders is going on.
Arrested leaders identified
The arrested leaders have been identified as PFI state secretary Zakir Hussain and CFI national treasurers Abu Sama and Shaheedul Islam. Police has recovered Rs 1.5 lakh cash from the arrested leaders. Along with this, four mobile phones and pamphlets of SDPI have also been recovered. Hiren Nath, ADGP of Assam Police has given this information.
The central government had imposed a ban in 2022
Let us inform that in September 2022, the Central Government had banned the Popular Front of India (PFI). Many states had demanded a ban on PFI. Following the ban, raids were conducted on the bases of PFI and its affiliated organizations across the country and several PFI leaders were detained.
Along with PFI, its eight associate organizations include Rehab India Foundation, Campus Front of India, All India Imam Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization, National Women Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation.
