The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under the leadership of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has started preparing for the upcoming assembly and Lok Sabha elections. In this series, the party has appointed five new national joint secretaries.
The leaders to whom AAP has assigned new responsibilities include Sudhir Vaghani, Umesh Makwana, Hemant Khawa, Bhupat Bhayani and Pankaj Singh. Pankaj Singh has been the president of AAP’s Madhya Pradesh unit. Sudhir Vaghani, Umesh Makwana, Hemant Khawa and Bhupat Bhayani are the party’s MLAs from Gujarat.
Significantly, the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged from the anti-corruption movement launched by social worker Anna Hazare in the year 2011 demanding a strong Lokpal, currently has governments in two states – Delhi and Punjab. AAP had also fought the assembly elections in Gujarat last year with full force, but the party did not get the expected success. After this new announcement, it is believed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal may contest the assembly elections to be held in some states including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan this year with great preparation.
