A 12-year-old boy was allegedly raped in Madhya Pradesh’s Seoni district. Three of his friends strangled him to death with a bicycle chain, the youngest of whom is 11 years old. The victim’s head was crushed with a stone and his throat was slit with a butcher’s knife.
The murder took place on Sunday in Magarkatha village near Seoni.
The three minors stuffed the body of the 12-year-old girl in a polythene bag and dumped it on a pile of pebbles near their house. The police came to know of the crime when a woman found a bloodstained bag. Barghat Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDOP) Shashikant Sareyam said the 16-year-old accused tried to talk to the 12-year-old boy’s sister. When the victim came to know, there was an altercation between her and the accused. This became the reason for this heinous massacre.
The three minors were taken into custody and produced before a court, which sent them to a reform home for 14 days.
Inspector Prasanna of Barghat police station said on Sunday, “The three, including two brothers, aged 16, 14 and 11 years respectively, called the 12-year-old boy to an isolated place in Magarkatha village, about 28 km from Seoni district headquarters, on Sunday.” Sharma told news agency PTI.
He said that despite being minors, the three committed the crime like habitual killers.
“They planned the crime and called their 12-year-old friend to an isolated place. They caught hold of him and strangled him with a bicycle chain. When the boy was moaning in pain, they smashed his head with a big stone and hit him on the head.” He was stabbed in the throat with a sharp knife, which is used to slaughter goats.”
The Madhya Pradesh police officer further said that the three boys put the body in a polythene bag. and threw it on a pile of pebbles near his house and fled, so that a woman living nearby would not be scared.
